As part of the Hampton Roads Bridge-Tunnel Expansion (HRBT) project in Virginia, we have been actively involved in providing advanced anti-collision solutions for one of the largest infrastructure works currently underway in the United States. Our DCS 61-S systems have been successfully installed on several lifting machines, ensuring the highest levels of safety and efficiency on-site. We are simultaneously managing interference risks between tower cranes, mobile cranes, and gantry cranes deployed across both the North Island and South Island of the project. Valued at $3.9 billion, this major infrastructure effort aims to expand the Interstate 64 corridor by constructing two new bored tunnels and widening existing roadways over a 16-kilometre stretch. Its goals are to relieve traffic congestion, improve transportation links, and enhance regional connectivity.
In addition to onboard systems, our IoT Lifting App has been deployed, providing real-time visibility of crane activity, operational insights, and digital tools for tracking, reporting, and incident prevention.
With this complete setup, lifting operations benefit from advanced monitoring, proactive collision prevention, staff protection, and minimized downtime due to safety concerns delivering reliable support to one of the country’s most critical infrastructure developments.
