Offshore Wind Farm

France
Fécamp

On the Bougainville quay in Le Havre, a large-scale project was carried out for the construction of gravity-based foundations for the Fécamp offshore wind farm, now completed. These massive concrete structures, each weighing nearly 5,000 tonnes, serve as the base for wind turbines installed off the Normandy coast. To support the industrial production of these elements, a total of 18 Potain cranes were equipped with our DCS 61-S anti-collision system:

- 16 luffing jib cranes mounted on translation rails (4 cranes per track, across 4 rails),
- And 2 flat-top tower cranes, used primarily for material handling and logistics.

The real-time collision management provided by the DCS 61-S ensured smooth and safe coordination of crane movements in a highly dynamic and congested environment, where multiple machines operated in close proximity.

This site, which mobilized over 1,000 workers, is a strong example of French industrial expertise in meeting the technical challenges of large-scale infrastructure supporting the energy transition.
